Monday 5-7.30pm – Mental Health Mondays (FREE entry with refreshments included)

An exciting new session for young people aged 12-19 (or up to age 25 for SEND). A supportive space where young people can be themselves without judgement. The perfect place to socialise and try new activities. A great session for SEND young people – we have a sensory/chill space designed by our Young Peoples Management Group.

Activities include:

  • Music tuition/singing/recording
  • Animation
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Cooking
  • Gaming
  • Sport
  • Training opportunities
  • SEND friendly events and holiday activities

 

Tuesday 12-2pm – Lunch Club (£3.50 per person)

Lunch Club is our longest running group at DYCP, and for good reason! It’s a brilliant way to meet your neighbours and build new friendships over a lovely home-cooked meal. With a rotating menu of classics from fish and chips to mince and dumplings, there’s something for everyone. You’ll also get a delicious pudding and a cuppa, all for only £3.50!  Give us a call on 0191 264 7566 or email sara@dycp.org.uk to give us a heads up if you’re planning to come along. Anyone aged 18+ is welcome at the group.

 

Wednesday and Thursday 4.30-6.30pm – Junior Youth Clubs (£1 per person)

We run two Junior Youth Clubs per week at DYCP for young people aged 5-11 years old. A safe space for young people to socialise, have some fun, wind down after the school day and try out lots of different activities. Sessions are young people led – your opinions and ideas are important, and our staff are here to listen! We have a range of activities on offer including:

  • Gaming
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Bushcraft Activities
  • Sensory/Chill Space
  • Mini Volunteers Group for age 8+

 

Friday 3.15-5.15pm  – Afterschool Club (£1.50 per person)

The perfect way to finish the school week. Our staff pick up children aged 5-11 from West Denton Primary School for an after-school play session. Only £1.50 per session, and this includes yummy refreshments! Spaces must be booked in advance by calling 0191 264 7566 or emailing sara@dycp.org.uk

Friday 6-8pm – Senior Youth Club (£1 per person)

Come and spend your Friday nights at youth club! This session is for young people aged 11+ who have started high school. We’ve got something for everyone, whether you want to relax, cook, create, play or party. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun – a brilliant, accepting, friendly group for young people. There’s never a dull moment and always something to get involved with including:

School Holiday Programmes

We offer a range of school holiday activities from day trips to residentials. We’ve been all over the region and beyond, providing opportunities for young people to increase their confidence, improve mental and physical wellbeing, learn new skills, become more independent and make amazing memories.

 

Newcastle All-Stars Steel Pans Group

We’re also the home of the Newcastle All-Stars Steel Pans group. One of the regions premier steel pan orchestra’s – they offer a range of sessions on Monday’s and Tuesday’s at our centre. Room Hire

Outside of these times, the centre is open for hire for meetings, children’s birthday parties or training sessions. The centre has three separate rooms, one of which can be set up for training purposes, with access to IT facilities including a projector and screen and can comfortably seat 40 people. We also have a fully equipped kitchen for the preparation of hot or cold food and refreshments. A second can be used for indoor sports and games and is equipped with a sound system for parties.
