Tuesday 11:30 – 1:30pm | Lunch Club

Open to anyone to come along for a healthy balanced home cooked two course meal and the opportunity to socialize with a varied group of adults.

£3.50 per head includes tea and coffee.

Tuesday 7 – 8:30pm | Newcastle All-Stars Steel Pans

One of the regions premier steel pan orchestra’s.

Wednesday 4:30 – 6:30pm Junior Youth Session 1  

This session is for young people aged 6-11 and not yet in high school.

Thursday 4:30 – 6:30pm Junior Youth Session 2 

This session is also for young people aged 6-11 and not yet in high school. 

Friday 6 – 8pm Senior Youth Session 

This session is for young people aged 11+ and who have started high school.

Please note for those aged 6-11 your child will be allocated a space on either one of the two junior sessions. Everyone’s first session is free then there is a £1 contribution per session thereafter. Sessions, include sports and games, cookery, arts & crafts, project based work and an opportunity to socialize with friends in a friendly and welcoming environment. Throughout the year we also run various trips, visits and residentials as part of our regular and holiday activity programmes.

We also operate a small tuck shop that offers hot snacks as well as the usual items.

Friday 3:15-5:15 is our After School Club

This session is for children aged up to six years old and who attend either West Denton Primary or St. John Vianny’s Primary schools. Staff collect the children directly from the teachers at the school and bring them to the centre for two hours of activity. As with the youth sessions, parents need to contact us first to check availability but also to sign a letter of consent to allow for the school to release their child into our care. Again the first session is free then there is a contribution of £1.50 per session thereafter, this includes the cost of supplying a healthy snack and refreshments.

Denton & Westerhope Mature Action Group

 on the last Thursday of every month between 12:30 – 2:30

This is a session for the over 50’s who are interested in socialising with like minded people. The group take part in a range of talks and demonstrations on a range of subjects and topics delivered by guest speakers from a variety of backgrounds. They also take part in campaigning on local issues that effect their quality of life, such as transport issues etc. Every few months the group take part in an inter-generational project with young people from the centre and these centre around a themed meal.  The session has a £1 contribution which includes refreshments. Outside of these times the centre is open for hire from anyone who needs a room to hold meetings, children’s birthday parties or training sessions. The centre has three separate rooms one of which can be set up for training purposes and there is access to IT facilities including projector and screen and can comfortable seat 40 people. We also have a fully equipped kitchen for the preparation of hot or cold food and refreshments. A second can be used for indoor sports and games and is equipped with a sound system for parties.
